LABOUR HAS TAKEN THE second seat of GE11, with Pat Rabbitte polling on top in Dublin South West in the first count. Rabbitte received 12,867 votes – that’s 3,500 votes over the quota. Fine Gael’s Brian Hayes has less than 30 votes below the quota on the first count. Sinn Féin’s Sean Crowe polled third, with 8,064 votes. The second count will now commence. Labour’s Joan Burton took the first seat about an hour ago in Dublin West.
