Man (50) dies in collision involving two motorbikes and a car

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision near Roundwood in Wicklow.

A 50-YEAR-OLD MAN has died and two other people have been injured in a collision involving a car and two motorbikes in Wicklow this afternoon.

The crash happened  at Ballinastoe near Roundwood at around 1.50pm today when the motorbike the victim was driving collided with a car.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been removed to St Columcille’s Hospital for a post mortem.

The driver of the car and a second motorcyclist were both taken to St Vincent’s Hospital to be treated for their injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening.

The R755 is currently closed while forensic investigators carry out an examination of the scene.

Gardaí have appealed for any witnesses to the fatal collision to contact Wicklow Garda Station on 0404 – 60140 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
