Four killed on Irish roads this weekend

Four separate road accidents in Wexford, Longford and Cork have claimed the lives of four men.

A 69-YEAR-OLD man has become the fourth person to be killed on Irish roads this weekend.

The man died following a fatal road crash in Ballycullane in Wexford.

Gardaí in New Ross said the single car collision occurred at Coolroe between 5.30pm on Saturday and 9.30am this morning.

The man, who was the sole occupant of the care, died after he veered off the road and landed over a ditch.

His body has been removed to Waterford Regional Hospital.

The road has now been reopened and Gardaí have asked for any witnesses to contact them on 051 426 030.

This is the fourth road death in Ireland this weekend. Earlier, Gardaí advised that a 39-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene of a collision in Granard, Co. Longford.

Also, an 83-year-old man died in Fermoy in County Cork yesterday afternoon, while a  76-year-old man was killed in a crash at Rosslare Harbour on Saturday morning.
