Garda patrol car set on fire in Kildare

The incident happened at 10pm last night while Gardaí were responding to a call in the Castletown housing estate in Celbridge.

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING an incident in which a Garda patrol car was set on fire last night in the Castletown housing estate in Celbridge, Co Kildare.

The incident occurred at 10pm last night when Gardaí were responding to a call in the estate. They parked the patrol car in the adjacent street and when they returned it was on fire.

Gardaí said no one was injured in the incident though extensive damage was done to the car.

They are now investigating the matter and have appealed for any witnesses to contact Celbridge Garda Station on 01 628 8222.
