Man due in court over Dublin Garda station spying

A 41-year-old man will appear in court this evening in connection with the suspected covert surveillance of the Garda station on Harcourt Street.

A MAN IS due in court this evening charged in connection with suspected covert surveillance of a Garda station in Dublin city centre.

The 41-year-old man was one of two men arrested on Wednesday night after Gardaí based at Harcourt Street station became aware that a person known to them had booked a room in the Harcourt Hotel across the street.

The room was searched and equipment seized which it is believed was being used for surveillance. Two men were later arrested on Grafton Street.

A 32-year-old man was released without charge by Gardaí last night and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The second man who was arrested will appear before a sitting of the Special Criminal Court in Dublin this evening.
