SOME OF IRELAND’s best known tourist attractions can now be explored from anywhere in the world through Google’s virtual street view service.
Dublin Zoo, the Rock of Cashel, Fota Wildlife Park and the Powerscourt Estate in Wicklow are just some of the tourist destinations that can now be viewed in detail online.
Sports grounds like the Aviva Stadium and Croke Park in Dublin can also be explored from pitch level.
The online panoramic mapping service gives street level views to many streets and roads around the world but never before to Irish tourist attractions normally only accessible by foot.
Google captured the imagery last September with members of their team wheeling around some of the historic monuments on special street view tricycles.
Here’s some of what they captured. You can explore more by heading to Google Maps street view.
