POLICE IN THE south of England have identified a man found dead in a kayak on an Isle of Wight beach over a month ago.

The deceased has been named as Morgan Savage, 40, from Dublin.

He was last seen alive at around 4pm on 8 September in the Sussex town of Newhaven, where he purchased a yellow and black blow-up Sevylor Conrad kayak.

His body was found three days later, on 11 September.

A statement from Hampshire Police yesterday said the man’s next of kin have been informed of his identity.

A postmortem into his death, carried out on 24 September, was inconclusive.

“The coroner is currently awaiting histology results,” police said.
