PICS: Have €2.5m spare? This Harry Potter-style abbey is up for sale

Loreto Abbey was put on the market by David Carson, receiver of Lozeto Ltd.

EVER FANCIED LIVING it up in a Harry Potter-style, 18th century abbey complete with concert hall, church and school laboratory? Well, now’s your chance.

Loreto Abbey on Grange Road, Rathfarnham, South Dublin is set to go on the market in the coming weeks.

The abbey is made up of former school/college buildings on a 4.5 acre site. Most of the buildings are linked by a central Georgian house – formally known as Rathfarnham House, built in 1725.

The buildings are filled with architectural gems from the church with its vaulted ceilings and stained glass windows, through to the Abbey with its plasterwork and living accommodation to the former school rooms and science laboratory on the top floor.

For a cool €2.5million you’d also be getting a sweeping double driveway, set back from the road that overlooks grounds with mature trees and and a pond says estate agents Savills.

The abbey also comes with a crèche currently let to Giraffe Childcare for €90,000 rent a year. This premises has a guide price of €650,000.

It is to be put on the market on the instructions of David Carson, receiver of Lozeto Ltd.

Let’s have a look around:
