Man arrested over murder of Andrew Allen in Donegal

Allen, 24, was shot dead in Buncrana earlier this year after having reportedly been driven out of Derry.

A MAN HAS been arrested over the murder of Andrew Allen in Donegal earlier this year.

The man in his 50s was taken into custody this morning and is currently being held at Buncrana garda station under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.

Allen, 24, was shot dead at a house in the Links View Park area of Buncrana on February 9. There were suggestions at the time that the bullet came through a window of the house.

The victim was originally from the Waterside area of Derry, and had reportedly been driven out of the city last year by a Republican vigilante group.

It was suspected that a silver Vauxhall Cavalier car, found burnt out a short time after the shooting, was used in the incident.

A woman was also in the house at the time of the murder, but was not injured.
