Man killed after bloody assault in Temple Bar

A 40-year-old man dies in hospital after being attack at the corner of Wellington Quay and Fownes Street this afternoon.

A 40-YEAR-OLD MAN has died in his hospital after being brutally attacked in Dublin’s Temple Bar area this afternoon.

The incident occurred at around 4pm, when the man was attacked at the junction of Wellington Quay and Fownes Street.

The man was taken to St James’s Hospital where he died from his injuries this evening.

A 34-year-old man has been arrested and is being detained at Pearse Street Garda Station.

The scene has been sealed off, and witnesses are asked to contact the Pearse Street station at (01) 666 9000, the Garda Confidential line at 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
