Poll: Should the Sisters of Charity own the new National Maternity Hospital?

The current plan will see the €300 million hospital owned by the religious order.

A PETITION OPPOSED to religious order the Sisters of Charity owning the new National Maternity Hospital has topped 50,000 signatures.

The hospital is to be situated on grounds owned by the Sisters of Charity but opposition to the plans are growing. A protest is planned for later today.

The Department of Health has said that the ethos of the current National Maternity Hospital will not change and that religion will not interfere with decision-making.

A former master of the National Maternity Hospital today questioned this claim from the department. But what do you think?
