Three-year-old boy dies in Monaghan road crash

In a separate incident in Calary Co. Wicklow, a 40-year-old man died when his motorcycle collided with a tree.

A THREE-YEAR-OLD boy has died after a two car crash in Monaghan this evening.

The crash happened at Carrickmacross on the N2 Dublin-Derry road about 6.30 pm.

A 36-year-old woman who was driving the car in which the toddler was travelling is also said to be in a critical condition and has been airlifted to Tallaght Hospital.

Two women were travelling in the other car and they have both been taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.

Investigating Gardaí are are asking anyone who may have seen the crash to contact them at Carrickmacross Garda Station.

Wicklow

In a separate incident in Calary Co. Wicklow, a 40-year-old man died when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a tree.

He was pronounced dead at the scene on the Kilmacanoge to Roundwood Road and his body has been removed to St. Columcille’s Hospital in Loughlinstown where a post-mortem will take place.

Gardaí in Bray Garda station are appealing for witnesses.
