Seen the Navy in action and have to congratulate their professionalism and training.
Great bunch of people that carry out an amazing job of search & rescue and costal protection.

The Navy are always on scene if there is a disaster at sea and hold station until the job is done.
They work along with the Aer Corps and RNLI and Coastguard to provide search & rescue. They tackle the worst imaginable seas to perform their duties
I am in the leisure marine industry and it’s damm comforting to know they are there.

They do a great job in very dangerous conditions . Well done !!!

If anyone ever comes across the Irish episodes of the BBC show “coast” you should give em a watch because the presenter goes out with the Irish navy on an exercise like this. While this is a cool little vid, the exercise they do in the show looks amazing. I was both extremely proud and extremely glad to know that these guys are very very good at their jobs!

Ok guys, I’m a serving member of the NS and an ex-member of these teams. I can assure you the fire-power is adequate, the conditions are rarely that calm and these real boardings are executed at night. This is simply a press release video. You’d hardly think we’d show a real live exercise!

Nothing much shown here with regards armed boardings,they should have shown a real time exercise being done at night,it would show the public the real dangers involved and how professional they do their job,I had the privilege of spending 2 years at sea with the service and was part of a armed boarding team that boarded a vessel that had 25mill worth off cannibis stowed away….It ain’t easy boarding the vessel undetected under the cover of darkness,not knowing whether people on the vessel are armed too.

Pretty cool. Would love to have a proper job like that.

From the head line I expected to see them (a) boarding a vessel and (b) a suspected drug smuggling ship. Instead you show a video of sailors walking around their own ship, opening a hatch and then some sailors in a rib sailing up the side of a naval ship…. Have to question why this is news worthy…. No offence to those who appear in the video.

Can people not just read and see the article for what it is an informative piece of journalism.

Christine I and I’m sure a lot of people would love to see them board a vessel. I can only imagine how much skill and courage is required to perform such a task in choppy waters not knowing what you are about to come up against. My point is that you don’t have that footage so why try and advertise a story that you don’t have.

I was expecting al Pacino” say hello to my little friend” and a whole load of shooting and bombing.. Did I miss something, all I saw was a nervous lad nearly fall into a door.WTF ..

We have a Navy?! Who woulda thunk it..

If they ever come up against some cartel with semi-automatic rifles I’m sure those little hand guns will scare the bejeebus out of them
