Photos: Ireland’s top 10 attractions revealed

Which places around the country drew the most visitors last year? And does this vintage photo give you a clue?

FÁILTE IRELAND HAS released its list of the country’s top tourist attractions, ranked by the number of visitors each attracted.

The figures show just two sites in Ireland reaching the million-visitor mark during 2011. But still, we guess that is the equivalent of almost one in four people in the country.

So what made the cut? Fáilte Ireland breaks its figures down into paid and free attractions – here are the top ten for each, in pictures:
