Poll: How would you rate Mary McAleese's presidency?

The current President of Ireland’s 14-year tenure is drawing to a close – how do you think she has managed the role over that time?

TODAY IS THE last full day of Mary McAleese’s tenure as President of Ireland. Michael D Higgins will be inaugurated as the ninth President tomorrow and move into Áras an Uachtaráin.

President McAleese posted a message on the Áras website today to thank the people of Ireland for placing their trust in her and said she hoped that she had “vindicated that faith” during the past 14 years.
