Post-mortem to be carried out on body found in slurry tank

The body was found yesterday afternoon in Fawnagowan, Tipperary.

A POST-MORTEM is to be carried out today on a body that was found in a slurry tank in Tipperary.

The find was made at around 2pm, yesterday afternoon. The tank was located at the back of a house at Fawnagowan in Tipperary town.

The State Pathologist was notified and the scene was preserved for a forensic examination.

Today, gardaí said that a post-mortem is to be carried out on the body.

The Irish Independent says that it is believed the remains were found in a slurry tank and are those of a local man who went missing two years ago. However, the individual’s identity has not been officially established.

It is expected that following the post-mortem, gardaí will decide whether to launch a murder investigation.
