Man dies after single vehicle crash in Co Leitrim

A man in his 60s was pronounced dead at the scene.

A MAN HAS died after a single-vehicle crash in Co Leitrim.

The incident involving a tractor occurred on the L3355 near Mullaghycullen, Drumcong, Co Leitrim on Sunday.

Gardaí arrived at the scene shortly before 11pm, where a man in his 60s was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses in the area between 10.30pm and 11pm to come forward.

The road remains closed and the scene sealed off as a technical examination takes place. 

Investigations into the incident are ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to contact Carrick-on-Shannon Garda Station, the Garda Confidential Line, or any garda station.

On Sunday morning, one person died in a two-vehicle crash in Co Tyrone.

Police in Northern Ireland said the collision involving a Volvo and a Mazda happened on the Clanabogan Road at around 9.10am on Sunday. 

Emergency services, including the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service, attended the scene.

“However, sadly one person was pronounced deceased at the scene,” said Detective Inspector Dave Stewart, from the PSNI Collision Investigation Unit.
