Did you boycott this year's Eurovision?
RTÉ was one of five broadcasters who boycotted the contest due to Israel’s participation.
THE EUROVISION SONG Contest final took place in Vienna on Saturday, and Ireland was among five countries that boycotted it over Israel’s participation.
RTÉ joined broadcasters in Spain, Slovenia, Iceland and the Netherlands in deciding not to send an act or air the contest in protest at Israel’s participation amid its war on Gaza.
Bulgaria’s entrant DARA won the contest with 516 points, with Israel coming second. The UK came last.
While many Eurovision fans travelled to Vienna, others who usually book a trip to the contest or tune in from home chose not to do so this year.
With Ireland absent and many viewers choosing not to tune in at all, boycotts and protests have dominated much of the discussion here about this year’s Eurovision.
