Thousands without power and some commuter services suspended
There were winds of up to 100 kilometres in some areas last night.
HIGH WINDS AND rain overnight has left over 6,500 homes and businesses without power this morning.
The weather has also caused bad news for commuters with Dart and Northern Commuter services suspended.
Irish Rail says there is currently no service from Connolly Station to Malahide and Howth due to a fallen tree and damaged overhead lines.
The Drogheda commuter service is also suspended. Dublin bus is accepting rail tickets.
Power
ESB Crews are now working to restore service to the homes and businesses without power.
Most of the affected customers are in Blessington, Co. Wicklow and Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford.

Roads
AA roadwatch is also warning motorists to drive slowly and be prepared for spot flooding, fallen trees and extra debris on the roads.
