A PRISONER WAS found dead in his cell at Mountjoy Prison at 6:30 this morning.
Douglas Ward, 38, was serving a 16 year sentence for the manslaughter of 18-year-old Niall Dorr.
It’s believed he died from a suspected drug overdose. He was found with a cup of hooch in his hand, which is a brew made in prisons.
He was in a secure unit in the prison.
Ward was a father of four from Louth.
The Prison Service is now launching an investigation into the death.
