FORMER ALASKA GOVERNOR and vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is putting her enormous Scottsdale, Arizona mansion up for sale.
The nearly five-acre gated compound includes an enormous 8,000-square-foot main house flanked by a full-size lighted basketball court, a pool and spa house, and a hot tub.
The home last changed hands in 2011 for $1.695 million (about €1.57 million), according to public records obtained by the LA Times. Assuming Palin was the most recent buyer, and the house sells for at least its asking price of $2.4 million (about €2.2 million), she’ll make a tidy profit.
Richard F Barker of Keller Williams Arizona Realty has the listing.
It’s a gated estate with room for six cars in its huge garage.
As you walk the wrap-around driveway, you get a sense of just how large the estate is.
The Spanish style is very apparent outside.
Inside, wrought-iron banisters and stucco-style lofts give the space an airy feel.
The nearly 8,000 square feet affords plenty of space for living rooms and sitting areas.
The fireplaces are works of art, and they’ve been attached to many of the sitting areas.
The kitchen is so large it’s slightly intimidating.
There’s a maze of countertops and islands throughout the room.
There are two side-by-side ovens and a bread warmer.
Plus an eight-burner stove top …
… and no less than two full-size refrigerators.
There’s plenty of space for a study.
Downstairs, a bar area complements the family room.
There’s also a purpose-built media room (screen not included).
As for bedrooms, there are six.
A Jacuzzi tub stands in the centre of the master bathroom.
Or you can opt for a rainfall shower head.
The laundry room is a haven of cleanliness.
The estate’s outdoors are just as luxurious as the indoors.
There’s a built-in grill among the appliances of the outdoor kitchen.
Plenty of room for a summer BBQ.
A full-size indoor swimming pool is the centrepiece of the outdoor attractions.
There’s even a putting green and a bocce ball court.
And right next to that, you’ll find a full-size basketball and volleyball court.
A veranda overlooks all the action.
