Almost 50 businesses have been charred in an area of New Jersey that was battered by Hurricane Sandy just 11 months ago.

The boardwalk at Seaside Park, NJ was engulfed in flames overnight. It is believed that the fire started near a frozen custard stand.

AP reports that “among the businesses destroyed were a fudge shop, fry stands and a bar and grill where Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi was punched in the face during filming of the first season of MTV’s “Jersey Shore.”
