Man dead after being shot multiple times in west Dublin car park

The shooting occurred at about 9.20 pm.

Updated 10.55 pm

A MAN HAS died after a shooting in west Dublin this evening.

The shooting occurred in a car park at Fortunestown Lane near Citywest Village Shopping Centre at about 9.20 pm.

The man was in his 20s and was a fitness instructor from the Lucan area. He received a number of gunshot wounds.

Emergency services attended to the man at the scene but he was pronounced dead a short time later.

One of the possibilities being explored is that tonight’s killing may be linked to last week’s killing of Darragh Nugent in Collinstown, west Dublin.

The scene at Fortunestown Lane is being preserved pending a garda technical examination and a post-mortem is being arranged.
