Fatal shooting on Dublin's South Circular Road

A man in his 30s has died, say Gardaí.

A MAN IN his 30s has been killed in Dublin city this evening.

Gardaí at Kevin Street have confirmed that a fatal shooting occurred at about 8pm tonight on the South Circular Road, near Griffith College.

The victim received serious injuries and was taken to St James Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination and the office of the State Pathologist has been notified.

A dark-coloured car was seen leaving the scene and was later found on fire at O’Curry Avenue.

Investigating gardaí have appealed for any witnesses to the shooting to contact them on 01 666 9400 or the confidential line on 1800 666 111.
