PSNI say ‘nothing untoward’ about item found on plane in Fermanagh airport

A SUSPICIOUS ITEM was removed from a plane at an airport in Fermanagh last night but PSNI officers have said there was “nothing untoward” about the package.

An army bomb disposal team were called to the scene at St Angelo Enniskillen Airport and removed the package for further examination at about midnight on Monday.

The security alert is now over and the airport and surrounding roads have reopened.

A PSNI spokesperson said earlier media reports falsely suggested there was a “viable explosive device” on a small plane registered in England but based at St Angelo.
