Teenager arrested in connection with Smithfield horse fair fight
A male in his late teens has been arrested in connection with a violent clash at the Smithfield horse fair in Dublin earlier this month, in which another teenager almost lost an arm.
GARDAÍ INVESTIGATING a violent clash at the Smithfield horse fair in Dublin earlier this month have arrested a teenager in connection with the incident.
Gardaí have confirmed that a male in his late teens was arrested in Dundalk this morning. He is currently being held at Store Street Garda station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
A number of people have been questioned by gardaí in connection with the 7 March incident, during which a number of shots were fired and a teenager almost had his arm severed with a slash hook.
Following the clash, the Dublin Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (DSPCA) said it was a “miracle” no one was killed as scenes after shots were fired and panicking people and horses ran across the plaza.
