Three injured in two separate shootings overnight

A man walking his seven-year-old son home was one of the victims of two unrelated shootings last night.

GARDAÍ IN OFFALY and Dublin are appealing for information on two unrelated shooting incidents overnight.

In Tullamore, a man and a woman were injured after a shooting in the Cluain Darach area of the town around 7pm last night.

A 32-year-old man was walking with his seven-year-old son to his home when a man ran from a car and fired at least three shots.

A woman in her late 20s, who was in the house at the time was also injured, though both were described as having minor injuries.

The man was treated at the scene and the woman was taken to Midlands Regional Hospital.

The car used in the shooting was later found burnt out in Durrow, four miles away.

Gardaí in Tullamore are appealing for information and have asked anyone with information to contact them on 057 932 7600.

Meanwhile, a 25-year-old man was injured after being shot in the leg in Coolock in Dublin.

The man was walking from his home at around 10pm when a gunman approached and fired. The man was struck in the leg, but gardaí say his injuries are minor.

A 21-year-old man was uninjured in the attack.

The gunman fled in a white Volkswagen Golf.
