IT’S GOING TO be a cold, wet windy day across the country with a risk of hail and thunder forecast.

Met Éireann says that showers will be widespread in every county, with blustery westerly winds a feature throughout the day.

Temperatures will be between seven to nine degrees but a “significant wind chill effect” will make it seem colder than it is.

The weather will be much the same all across Ireland for the day, with a risk of thunder particularly high for the west and the midlands and showers turning to hail in many areas.

Outlook

Showers will continue into the night along the west coast but becoming more isolated in other areas. Temperatures will fall to be between three and five degrees with winds continuing strong and gusty.

Tomorrow will see further showers but with less of a chance of hail and thunder. Temperatures will be slightly higher between nine and 11 degrees with fresh winds.
