Woman killed after car and truck collide in Co Wexford

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to yesterday evening’s crash at Shambough, New Ross.

A 35-YEAR-OLD woman has died following a crash involving a truck and a car in Shambough, New Ross, Co Wexford yesterday evening.

The collision occurred at around 6.25pm yesterday.

The female driver – and sole occupant – of the car was seriously injured and taken to Waterford Regional Hospital, where she was pronounced dead this evening.

The driver of the articulated lorry was not injured in the collision.

The road was closed for a technical examination of the scene, but has since reopened.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to yesterday’s crash to come forward and contact them at Thomastown Garda Station on 056 7754150, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
