Man charged after 3D-printed gun seized by gardaí in Ballymun

Tablets suspected to be diamorphine and Zopiclone were also seized.

A MAN HAS been charged in connection with the seixure of a 3D-printed gun and drugs by gardaí in north Dublin yesterday.

Gardaí carried out searches of a property in Ballymun, Dublin 9 yesterday evening as part of ongoing investigations targeting the sale and supply of drugs and related criminal activity in the area.

Gardaí from the Ballymun Drugs Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in Ballymun at approximately 8pm.

During the course of the search, Gardaí seized a 3D-printed firearm, approximately €300 of suspected diamorphine and €1,680 of suspected Zopiclone tablets. The exact values are subject to analysis, according to the Garda Press Office.

A man in his 40s was arrested at the scene and has since been charged.

He appeared before the late sitting of the Criminal Courts of Justice in Dublin city this evening.

A garda spokesperson said investigations are ongoing.
