1. #GDP: Ireland’s gross domestic product (GDP) grew by a huge 26% last year. The eurozone country with the second strongest growth was Luxembourg, which saw a 4.8% rise.
2. #COURTS SERVICE: There was a 9% increase in the number of divorce applications in Ireland in 2015. Some 4,314 applications were lodged last year, with more women than men applying.
3. #MIDLANDS: Four grardaí were injured during an operation to arrest three men as part of an operation targeting burglaries in the midlands.
4. #LABOUR PAINS: A brick has been thrown through the constituency office window of Angela Eagle, the UK Labour MP challenging Jeremy Corbyn for leadership of the party.
5. #BURN: Rory McIlroy has said he’ll probably watch the Olympics, but he’s not sure if he’ll tune into the golf.
