1. #RECORDED: The Taoiseach has revealed that telephone calls between 84 prisoners and their solicitors were “inadvertently recorded” by the Irish Prison Service. The Government found out today, six days after the IPS became aware of it.

2. #ON TRIAL: Independent TD Michael Lowry is to go on trial after being charged with four counts of knowingly filing incorrect tax returns. Lowry has confirmed he will contest the case, which is set to begin on 24 June.

3. #DRINK: People in Ireland drank 7 per cent less alcohol last year compared to the previous year, with consumption of all major types of alcoholic drink significantly down.

4. #AND IT’S LIVE: Sky Sports is to broadcast 14 GAA championship games this summer as part of a new TV rights deal.

5. #NOT HAPPENING: A woman has lost her legal action against the owners of a pub in Dublin after she was injured during an Ann Summers party as she tried to grab a prize. The judge accepted her version of events but said the pub had not been negligent.
