A 6-YEAR old boy in Florida who has mild autism got quite the birthday surprise after his mother wrote a post on a local community page about how heartbroken she was no one turned up for his birthday party.
Ashlee Buratti posted that she had invited 16 of her son’s classmates to the celebration, but no one showed.
His mother told KTLA 5 news station that “to see the look on his face killed me inside”.
What happened next will warm your heart.
Her post clearly resonated with people in the town, and within a few hours families and children, as well as local fire fighters and police, turned up at their door.
Crews from the county police and fire station gave young Glenn the star treatment, showing him all their kit, as well as bringing him presents.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s office even flew one of their helicopters low over Glenn’s house so that the pilot could wave to him.
His father John Buratti took to Facebook to thank the local community who rallied behind his son with their support.
Huge thank you to Osceola County Sheriff’s Department, Osceola County Fire Rescue and Frank who owns Koffee Kup for coming to our house today for my son Glenns Birthday. He had such a great time! I’m sure the neighbors were peeking out of their windows or taking cover. Such an amazing thing for our local law enforcement and fire fighters to do for us. Thank you to everyone involved.
Here’s how Glenn’s day went down:
