The 9 at 9 Good morning! Here are the nine things you need to know as you kick off your Tuesday.

EVERY MORNING, TheJournal.ie brings you the nine things you need to know as you start your day.

1. #ABORTION After Health Minister Dr James Reilly said yesterday that no suicidal pregnant woman seeking an abortion would have to see a panel of six doctors, the Daily Mail says it is believed that ministers will agree on the need for the woman to see three doctors. The draft law on abortion is due to be discussed today by cabinet.

2. #ARREST A man has been arrested by detectives from the PSNI’s serious crime branch investigating dissident Republican terrorist activity. The man (50) is originally from the Lurgan area of Co Armagh and was arrested in Lancashire. He will be returned to Northern Ireland for questioning.

3. #BOSTON Latest reports say that Boston bombings suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has told investigators that his brother was the leader in last week’s deadly attacks, and that no international terrorist groups were behind them. This is according to preliminary interviews with the 19-year-old, who is in hospital but unable to speak. He was officially charged yesterday.

4. #STRIKE There is “nothing on the table” to provoke a teachers’ strike in the wake of the rejection of the Croke Park II deal, Ruairí Quinn told TheJournal.ie. He said that he understands why teachers’ unions have balloted their members on the right to initiate industrial action in recent weeks, describing it as precautionary. But he said that the government is “not entirely sure” what the next step is.

5. #MUSHARRAF Pakistan’s former military ruler Pervez Musharraf appears before an anti-terrorism court today over the murder of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto. Musharraf faces charges of conspiracy to murder Bhutto, who died in a gun and suicide attack in 2007, one of three cases he is fighting in the courts since returning home last month after four years in self-imposed exile.

6. #TAX Motorists are spreading out the cost of motor tax, the Irish Examiner says today. It says that there were in excess of 100,000 more quarterly tax licences issued in 2012 than in 2010. The paper says that people are approaching tax renewal this way due to falling incomes.

7. #ARMED ROBBERY A man in his late teens and a woman have been arrested by gardaí who also recovered a firearm and cash following an armed robbery at a shop on Main Street, Blanchardstown last night at around 11.40pm. A man entered the shop and threatened staff before escaping with a sum of money.

8. #BIPOLAR DISORDER One third of the 40,000 people in Ireland who have bipolar disorder are unable to work due to the impact it has on their lives, a new report says. Figures also show that many people with bipolar are only diagnosed after experiencing symptoms for between two and three years.

9. #LIBYA France has condemned an attack on its embassy in the Libyan capital Tripoli, in which two guards were injured. Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said that in liaison with the Libyan authorities, they will do everything to establish the circumstances of this “odious” act and identify the perpetrators.
