1. #CYBER ATTACK: AIB and Permanent TSB have confirmed evidence of possible fraudulent activity on cards that were involved in the LoyaltyBuild security breach, RTÉ reports.

2. #TYPHOON: Six days on from Typhoon Haiyan, the UN has admitted that it did not act quickly enough to help survivors in the Philippines.

Meanwhile, there is still chaos on the ground as aid workers try to get shipments through.

3. #JOBSWATCH: Ryanair is expected to make a significant jobs announcement later this morning. New positions and routes will be revealed by CEO Michael O’Leary who will appear alongside the Taoiseach at a press conference.

4. #SANDWICH GENERATION: About one third of Irish women in their 50s and 60s have been dubbed ‘the sandwich generation’ because they provide care and financial support to both elderly parents and dependent children, a new survey from the Irish Longitudinal Study on Ageing has concluded.

5. #EUROZONE: Michael Noonan is in Brussels today to discuss how best European countries can deal with failing banks in the future.

6. #NORTHERN IRELAND: Former soldiers of Britain’s undercover unit from the 1970s have spoken to BBC’s Panorama “about how they took the war to the IRA…sometimes even imitating the IRA itself”. The Ministry of Defence says it has referred allegations that members operated outside the law – firing on and killing unarmed civilians - to the police.

7. #SNAPCHAT: You may not use it but the latest messaging service Snapchat has become so popular that Facebook wanted to buy it for $3 billion. The founders turned down the offer, says the Wall Street Journal.

8. #HEART HEALTH: Meath footballer Shane McAnarney has urged GAA players to avail of the association’s free cardiac screening in an interview with the Irish Independent. The 33-year-old is recovering from a double bypass operation, performed after a serious heart condition was discovered during the test.

9. #BIZARRE: Five people were injured in Ennis last night when a van reversed into a grocery shop, shattering large panels of glass and destroying stock. Gardaí are investigating.
