Sunderland's Adam Johnson 'arrested on suspicion of having sex with a teenager'
The club is reported to have suspended the player.
ADAM JOHNSON IS currently being questioned by police on suspicion of having sex with a 15-year-old girl, according to British media.
Police in Durham issued a statement to say a 27-year-old man was arrested and remains in police custody, “helping officers with their enquiries”.
This morning, The Sun newspaper reported that a Premier League footballer was detained on suspicion of sexual activity with a girl under 16.
He has since been named as Sunderland’s Johnson. Sky Sports News is now reporting the club has suspended him, pending the outcome of the police investigation.
