BEING AFRAID OF Santa and his shopping centre helpers is not a new phenomenon.

Here’s the pictorial proof: A young Belgian child has his tears wiped away by his mother as they visit a Father Christmas in traditional regalia in a shop in Liege, Belgium at the height of World War II in 1943.
