Man (20s) arrested after attempted armed robbery in Co Dublin

A man was arrested near the scene and a knife was recovered.

A MAN IN his 20s has been arrested and charged after an attempted armed robbery of a retail premises in Clongriffin, Dublin 13 last night.

Shortly after 9.30pm, Gardaí responded to a report of a man having entered a business brandishing a knife, threatening staff and demanding money from the till.

No injuries were reported.

A man was arrested near the scene and a knife was recovered.

He was detained at a Garda Station in Dublin under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

He has since been charged and is due to appear before a sitting of Dublin District Court (Court No. 2) at the Criminal Courts of Justice this morning.

Investigations are ongoing.
