Live in Limerick? There's 100 jobs coming your way
The roles will be created over the next two years.
SOME 100 JOBS are coming to Limerick thanks to IT investment in the city.
Information Technology Shared Services, a Division of Johnson & Johnson Services, plans to create the positions over the next two years through the establishment of a Development Centre at the National Technology Park in Plassey.
The company already employs 2,000 across the country.
Recruitment for the new roles – which are described as “highly skilled, information technology positions” - is expected to start immediately.
Jobs Minister Richard Bruton, who made the announcement, said multinational investment plays “a key part” in the Government’s job strategy.
“I wish Johnson & Johnson every success with this project, and look forward to working with them as they continue to develop their operations in Ireland,” Bruton added.
Martin Shanahan, CEO of IDA Ireland, said Limerick is a great place for companies to locate, stating: “IDA Ireland will continue to work hard to make sure that the city continues to enjoy investments like this in the future.”
Last April, Ethicon Biosurgery Ireland, part of the Johnson & Johnson groop, announced plans to develop a €80 million manufacturing facility providing approximately 270 jobs, also at the National Technology Park in Plassey.
