Homeless organisation came across three overdoses on Dublin streets last night
Activists fear there may be a bad batch of drugs on the streets right now.
A HOMELESS OUTREACH group has claimed it came across three suspected overdoses on the streets of Dublin last night.
Inner City Helping Homeless (ICHH) said that its outreach teams found two people unconscious and unresponsive as they made their rounds. On another occasion, ICHH said it had “engaged with emergency services called by a taxi driver as another rough sleeper had openly collapsed in the city centre district”.
The group said that all three incidents happened within a mile of each other.
CEO Anthony Flynn said that ICHH wished to thank Dublin Fire Brigade for its help with the vulnerable people.
He said: “Our first priority is the wellbeing of the people who were assisted by ambulance crews last night. I’d like to commend Dublin Fire Brigade Ambulance crew for their response and efforts last night and also the quick thinking of our support teams.
“On investigation this morning, the word coming from the street is that a bad batch of “crack” is in circulation, but this is not confirmed at this time.
Our focus this morning is to engage with the operating services today and make sure everyone is aware of last night’s incidents and to gain as much information as possible as so preventive measures can be put in place.With winter nearly upon us we fear more lives will be lost on the streets of Ireland over the coming months.
