Man dies after getting into difficulty while swimming in Dún Laoghaire yesterday

He was rescued from the water but later died in hospital.

A MAN HAS died after getting into difficulty while swimming in Dún Laoghaire yesterday afternoon.

Emergency services were alerted to the incident yesterday at around 12.30pm and the man was rescued from the water by the Coast Guard.

He was then taken to St Vincent’s Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The Coroner has been notified and a file will be prepared accordingly.
