IF YOU LIVE or work in Dublin and didn’t spend the entire day cowering from the rain, you may well have encountered volunteers from Trinity’s Med Day out collecting for their annual fundraising drive.
The university’s medical students spend weeks each year preparing for the centrepiece fundraising day of their campaign.
They’re hoping to raise vital funds for a range of unglamorous but essential projects - like faster diagnostics for bowel disease and sepsis, and technology to help in
physiotherapy rehabilitation.
Unluckily for the young team, their big day happened to coincide with some historically rotten weather – but if you’d like to help out with a donation, there’s still time to do so.
We’re told their bake sales in Tallaght and the Coombe turned out perfectly – but as one volunteer put it, a few extra euros for the campaign would be the icing on the cake.
