The weekend is also forecast to be wet and windy, although there may be sunny spells.

LAST UPDATE | 5 Dec 2025

A STATUS YELLOW rain warning is in place for Cork and Kerry as a Status Yellow wind warning is in effect in Dublin, Louth, Wexford, Wicklow, and Waterford.

The rain warning came into effect at 9am this morning and will expire at 9am tomorrow morning.

Met Éireann has warned of localised flooding. Poor visibility could make travelling conditions more difficult.

The wind warning came into effect at 11am and is to remain in place until 5pm. Met Éireann warned that loose debris and objects could be displaced by the wind.

Tonight is expected to bring a good deal of cloud overall with showers or longer spells of rain.

Temperatures will reach lows of 5 to 10 degrees with mostly light to moderate south to southwest winds. They’ll be stronger along the south coast.

The weekend

Saturday will be breezy, with showers and longer spells of rain forecast.

Through the afternoon, bright or sunny spells should develop from the south, with the rain and showers becoming more confined to Ulster.

Temperatures will reach highs of 8 to 11 degrees.

Met Éireann said there’s “some uncertainty in the detail” for Sunday, but currently it looks like further outbreaks of rain will push up from the south and will be heavy at times, especially in the east and northeast.

Brighter spells with scattered showers will extend from the west later on, but the rain may linger in the east and northeast for much of the day.

Highest temperatures of 8 to 12 degrees with light to moderate winds are forecast.

On Sunday night, clear spells will come but showers will spread from the west, and some will be heavy, the forecaster said.

There’s a chance of isolated hail on thunder on Sunday night, with lowest temperatures of 2 to 7 degrees.
