Teenager seriously injured following assault in Finglas

The incident happened on Sunday afternoon at around 3.30pm.

A TEENAGER HAS been hospitalised with serious injuries following an assault in Finglas yesterday.

The serious assault happened on the Tolka Valley Road in Finglas at around 3.30pm on 24 May.

A boy in his late teens was taken to Beaumont Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Anyone who may have video footage, including dash-cam, from the area between the hours of 3pm and 4pm are asked to contact Finglas garda station on 01 666 7500, the garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.

A garda spokesperson said investigations are ongoing.

Local Fianna Fáil councillor Keith Connolly said it is particularly shocking for somebody to be attacked in broad daylight, especially someone in their teens.

He encouraged anyone with information to make contact with Finglas garda station.

“Hopefully the culprits are caught because we can’t have that anywhere, but particularly for it to happen on a Sunday afternoon, it’s fairly shocking.”
