Will you watch Hamnet?

The period drama, starring Paul Mescal and Jessie Buckley, has received six Golden Globe nominations.

THE IRISH PREMIERE of Hamnet, starring Paul Mescal and Jessie Buckley, took place at Dublin’s Light House cinema on Saturday.

The period drama follows William Shakespeare and his wife Agnes as they come to terms with the death of their son Hamnet, which inspires Shakespeare to write Hamlet.

The film, which is set for its Irish release on 9 January, has received six Golden Globe nominations – including best actress for Buckley and best supporting actor for Mescal. It is also widely expected to receive Oscar nominations, which will be announced next year.

So, today we’re asking: Will you watch Hamnet?
