The Daily PollCINEMAS ACROSS IRELAND and beyond are expected to be busy for the foreseeable future with several major film releases, including sports comedy-drama Marty Supreme.
Directed by Josh Safdie and starring Timothée Chalamet, the A24 film follows shoe salesman Marty Mauser in his “pursuit of greatness” and dream of becoming a table tennis champion. Whether he succeeds or not – you’ll have to watch to find out.
Chalamet has already earned praise for his performance, which has been described by The Irish Times as “bravely abrasive”. It’s shaping up to be a busy awards season for the 30-year-old, who picked up Best Actor at the Critics Choice Awards this week and has been hotly tipped for an Oscar nomination.
