Many people will take the opportunity to book some time off and enjoy a holiday, whether that’s in the form of an Irish staycation or a trip abroad.
While some will be travelling somewhere new, others from around the world will plan to pay a visit to Ireland. Recent CSO figures show that foreign tourists spent €5.5 billion last year, down 9% from the €6 billion spent in 2024.
However, tourist numbers and spending surged by 34% in December compared to December 2024, with over 500,000 foreign visitors coming to Ireland.
