U2 HAVE RELEASED a new six-track EP titled Days of Ash.
The surprise release comes ahead of a new album expected later this year and has been described by the band as “an immediate response to current events and inspired by the many extraordinary and courageous people fighting on the frontlines of freedom”.
The band, who are no strangers to addressing urgent issues in their music, have released a song about the killing of Renée Good and a song about Ukraine (which includes a feature from Ed Sheeran).
Initial reviews of the EP have been relatively positive so far, with The Guardian saying that the release reaffirms the band “as a vital political voice”.
