Part of the M4 closed after man (60s) dies after being struck by lorry

The incident occurred this morning in the westbound carriageway of the M4, near Kilcock.

A MAN IN his 60s has died after he was struck by a lorry on the M4 this morning.

The man was a pedestrian. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident occurred in the westbound carriageway of the M4, near Kilcock. Gardaí and emergency services were altered shortly after 6:50am.

The westbound carriageway of the M4 between J7 Maynooth and J8 Kilcock remains closed as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators carry out a technical examination of the scene.

Traffic diversions are currently in place.

“The Coroner has been notified and post-mortem examination will be conducted in due course,” a garda spokesperson said.

Any witnesses have been urged to come forward and contact Leixlip Garda Station, the garda confidential line, or any garda station.
