Baby whose body was found at recycling facility laid to rest

Gardaí have appealed for the mother to come forward.

AROUND 100 PEOPLE have turned out for the funeral service of a baby whose body was found at a recycling facility last week.

The baby, who has been named Alannah by those dealing with the case, was found in the Greenstar recycling facility in Bray last Wednesday.

A special ecumenical ceremony was held at 12pm today in Redford Cemetery near the Wicklow town. In attendance were gardaí, social workers and employees of Greenstar.

While it is unknown where in the country the child is from, gardaí say they do not believe she was intentionally hurt.

They have appealed for the mother to come forward.

They have also appealed for anyone connected to the mam and dad, like any friends or family members who may have information, however small, to get in touch. An incident room has been established and gardaí are liaising with the HSE.

They can be contacted at the station on 01 6665300, through the Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or at any garda station.
